With a population just above 30,000, it is safe to say that Miami Lakes is not the most populous of cities. More than eighty percent of the residents of this city are Hispanic. Originally created on land, Miami Lakes was previously owned by the family of one Senator Ernest Graham. This city went through quite a unique phase of development in comparison to other cities in the United States. The reason why it was considered unique was because it closely followed a master plan that the members of Graham family devised themselves.
The plan took into consideration things like changing conditions of the market and future growth. One thing that was quite unusual in this plan was the lakes and roadways in it. If you take a quick peak at the lake and Roadways in Florida, you will notice that they are almost grid like. Miami Lakes however, was quite different as it has curvy lakes and winding roads.
This city is a perfect blend of parks, schools, and residential communities. At the center of Miami Lakes there are numerous businesses, stores, and restaurants. The center spot of this city is heavily frequented by tourists and locals alike. The city’s main street was made by using brick roads and took heavy inspiration from Mediterranean architecture.
